Painting

I decided to paint of our guest bathrooms last week. It was my project the day Edouard was to hit Houston. The storm didn't affect us but it gave me a reason to stay home the whole day and work on this project. It's very different for me to paint a dark color. I had to make a quick decision in the paint store - if I thought about it too long I would talk myself out of the dark chocolate brown paint. I'm very happy with the paint color - the room is very pretty.

Alex & Luigi

Marilyn watches my kids two or three times a month while I go to work at the Meriplex office. As soon as Alex gets to her house, he runs for Luigi. He likes to push the button and dance to the music. Marilyn caught it on video. So very cute!

Outside play

We've played outside a lot the last couple of weeks. Alex LOVES to play outside. Especially with the water hose. I took the kids to the splash park to play with Jessie and Lily last week. They had a blast running through the water. The kids took a break and snacked on watermelon before running off on the playground. It was two hours of running around and it was fun!

Sarah came in town to visit for a few days. My mom, Sarah and I took Alex back to the splash park over the weekend. This time a group of duckling came into the playground - without their momma duck. Alex and another little boy were fascinated by these ducks. Mimi held one so Alex could pet it.

Time to take a break from the sprinkler. Alex likes to chase Bailey in our yard.

We have also gone to the swimming pool a few times this summer. Our playgroup goes a couple times a month. We like the frog pool for our little toddlers. On our first visit to the pool, Alex was TERRIFIED and cried when we got in the pool. He gradually got used to the pool and now when we go, he runs right in. He'll even go swimming with me in the big pool. We are meeting Alex's cousins tonight at the bucket pool. Should be fun! Alex has asked all week long if he can go to Daniel's house. So cute.
